How to wire 6x9 speakers correctly to a car headunit

Many people have installed there 6 by 9 speakers in the back  parcel shelf but get confused on joining and hooking them up to a car head unit.Well this guide should explain how.If you are wanting to power your speakers using a car amplifier then please don't follow this guide.

If your car head unit can produce loads of rms power then you need to change the stock speaker wiring, but just for the back speakers.Remember don't buy cheap speaker cables as it reflects on the sound quality later when it comes to testing.

Get a soldering iron and solder wire and your new speaker wire and solder the speaker wire onto the both 6x9 terminals on each speaker.Soldering the wire onto the terminals makes the connection much more secure.

Work out how your are going to run the speaker wires in your car. Most people hide there speaker wire in side door panels, under car seats and carpets.

Remove your car head unit from the car's dashboard removing it carefully out using a flat head screwdriver. At the back of the deck you will see loads of wires that are connected. The wires that you want to look for are the rear speaker channels that are left and right.Pull your new speaker wires from the hole were the car head unit goes into or where you put the new speaker wires and get a wire cutter and cut off the old speaker wiring.Get some insulating tape and join the new speaker wires with the car head unit speaker output wires. That is really it you have completed the installation and the wireing is all sorted, its time for a sound test enjoy!
