Does the size of car audio speaker wire effect sound quality?

Does speaker wiring really matter for sound quality and louder volume?

Of course it matters! The more thicker the speaker wire is, the more lower the electrical resistance will be. The more lower the resistance the more louder the volume. Lower resistance speaker wire is typically better than high resistance wire because it helps the car audio amplifier control and handle the speaker. Therefore resulting in much better sound quality and loudness. Many people who switch from thin to thick speaker wire can't really tell the difference. As well as the thickness of the speaker wire, the distance is just as important. The more longer the length of the cable  the more resistance there is. The shorter the speaker cable is the less resistance there will be.

Choosing thicker speaker wire always depends on what you want to power. If your going to power a larger subwoofer, its obvious you need larger speaker wire and a high powered rms car amplifier. If your going to wire car front or rear speakers, then you will need small gauge wire and a small car amp. Below is a useful chart that will guide you correctly on which speaker size wire you will need. 10 gauge wire is great and its recommend for most car audio setups because it cheap and does its justice!
