If your washing machine's drum is not spinning, this can be caused because of the following:
1)The belt may have come off the motor, or it may have snapped off the motor. Either way, to identify if this has happened, you will need to dissemble your washing machine and locate the motor. If the belt has come off, or is broken, you will need to replace it and hopefully your washing machine will be spinning. If the belt is placed on the motor and it look's intact and your washing machine won't spin, then move on to solution 2.
2)The motor brushes are probably damaged. If it has been more then 5 years you have owned your washing machine, then there is a likely chance that replacing the brushes on the motor will fix this problem. To identify if the washing machine motor need new brushes, dissemble the motor and examine the brushes, do they look black, like they are burnt out? If they do look like that, replace them.
3)The washing machine speed control module can be faulty because of cold solder joints. You can repair the speed control module, if it has any cold solder joints, by get a soldering iron and reheating the cold solder.
4)The filter pump can be faulty. To work out if it is faulty, locate the pump and listen carefully to the pump, does it make faint humming sound? If it does it will need replacing.
