If you want your ps3 slim to last longer, then you should try to take more care using it and handling it. I have a ps3 console myself, i really like it for gaming and i don't want to buy another ps3 and spend more money, therefore i take extra care for it, which will reduce the chances of the ps3 braking down and i want to share how in this blog post.
1)Clean the ps3 console regularly, cleaning the laser lens and air vents. Dust is a common cause to damaged a console because it can cause components inside the console to stop functioning correctly and dust can also cause overheating to occur and cause the yellow light of death.
2)Don't block the air ventilation on the console.
3)Update the firmware on the console on a regular basis when Sony release a new update for it.
4)When handling the ps3, wash your hands with hand wash and dry them using a towel. Sweaty hands can make the console slip out of your hands, which can cause vital damage to the outside casing and inside components.
5)Place your console out of children's reach, such as under a telly or on a table. Children tend to run around and can step on your ps3 console and break it!!
