The PSP vita is backwards compatible with old school PlayStation 1 games. So you don't require a separate PSone console to play them on. You can simply download your favorite classic PS1 games from the PSN store and install them directly onto your memory card. You might notice that some PS1 games you play on the PSP vita may not appear in a full screen resolution and are surrounded with black bars around the edges. You can adjust the zoom level of the screen, so that you can optimize it to full screen mode.
1) In the middle of playing a PlayStation 1 game, hold down the 'Middle' of the touchscreen to bring up a onscreen menu.
2) Tap 'Other Settings' >' Screen Mode' >'Custom'.
3) Using your two fingers, 'Pinch' the screen outwards to increase the zoom level.
4) When you are happy with the zoom level, touch the 'OK' icon to save the changes you have just made.
