How To Make Car CD Player Play Through Auxiliary Input

What Is The Use of AUX In Car Stereo?

If you have an aftermarket CD player with an auxiliary input feature, you can either connect your mp3 player or android / apple smartphone to play music directly from it. This can save you time and money because you don't have to burn your own compact discs using itunes. You can have all of your favorite songs on just one device making it more convenient. The auxiliary input on your head unit will be a regular 3.5mm socket. To make the connection between two devices, you will need to buy a double ended 3.5mm patch lead cable. There is no need to purchase additional adapter kit if you already have this wire.

Instructions on setting up

1) Locate the AUX socket on your Car CD player. You will usually find it on the front removable panel. It will look exactly like a headphone socket on a portable music player.

2) Connect one end of the 3.5mm jack into the AUX socket. Connect the other remaining end on the cable into the 3.5mm output socket on your music player you want to attach.

3) Press the source button on your stereo and select the option 'Play through Auxiliary Input'. Select a track of your choice on your connected music device and press play. Adjust the volume accordingly to minimize distortion and bad sound quality heard from the speakers.
