How To Fix PS2 Blue Disc Read Error

If you have an older style PS2 console, chances are that you may come across problems when trying to get it to play blue disc games. The difference between the normal silver discs and the purple ones are the speed they are required to spin in order for the laser to read the content of it. When the blue purple games spin inside the disc tray, they overspin sometimes and slip on the motor. This causing problems with getting these kind of games to play straightaway. Most of the time applying masking tape of some kind on the top of the surface will add extra weight to the plastic and allow it to be more balanced.

1) Place the shiny side of the disc flat down onto a soft surface such as a towel or blanket. This is to prevent it getting scratched.

2) Cut two pieces of 3 cm tape from the role. You can also used electrical tape if you prefer.

3) Place these side by side between the disc spindle hole.

4) Reinsert game into disc tray and reset console.
