How To Fix Buzzing Sound Heard In Headphones

Whenever you listen to audio through your headphones, if you get a consistent buzzing or hissing sound in the background, this is called electromagnetic interference. Getting rid of this can improve sound quality levels and make music much more enjoyable at average volume levels. There are many different possible causes to the buzzing heard in your earphones.

1) Bad source. The device that you are plugging in your headphones into to output audio has probably got a bad electrical ground. Try plugging them into a different device. If its no longer heard now, then you will need to replace the mp3 player you are having problems with of a similar kind. If its with a computer try a different sound card.

2) The objects around the environment. If there are anything nearby that transmit or produce radio wave signals, these can leak into the cabling coating protective shielding. The shielding is used to at least prevent this happening, but if the EMI is too strong it will not be prevented.

3) Get an external DAC amplifier setup. If you are using your mobile phone you are prone to getting this kind of problem. Switching to an USB DAC using an OTG cable will not associate with the phones antenna at all. This reducing the amount of noise levels.
