Can a car subwoofer make you deaf?

Well yes it is quite possible to go deaf and no it all depends how loud the subwoofer is.Some people have crazy car audio setups with big rated subs and amplifiers that can reach over 180 db that can causes hearing loss.If you constantly listen to loud bassy music at really high volume levels then yes you could be permanently deaf when you get to a older age.So if you want to save your hearing in the long run then back the volume down or get rid of the subwoofer.Lower tuned enclosures are less likely to cause hearing loss because they produce more vibration over loudness.But if you running a port box tuned to 50hz then that can increase the chance of hearing loss compared to 30hz because at 50 hz you will gain more spl which stand for sound pressure level.
