How to clean rust and dirt on your car battery terminals

Car battery corrosion can occur if your battery is not used on a regular basis. If your car battery has a white powdery deposit, rust or any dirt on the battery terminals, it clearly shows your battery is suffering from corrosion. To remove the corrosion from you car battery, you can use a homemade remedy that always works like a charm. Below is a very good method that many people use to remove and get rid of it.

Instructions on removing corrosion from your car battery:

1)Open you hood and then locate the location of your battery. If you can't find it inside under the hood try looking in the rear trunk. Once you have verified were it is, remove the wires that are attached to the car battery posts.

2)Get some cheap baking soda and pour onto the terminal posts on the car battery. If you don't have soda available, you can use Coke instead. Next get a small DIY paint brush and scrub the soda onto the posts rapidly. I recommend using and wearing eye protection during this procedure because to make sure you don't get baking soda into your eyes.

3)Let the soda soak onto the posts for about 5 minutes. Leaving the soda to soak into the posts will help remove the left over sulphate.

4)After the 5 minutes, get a damp cloth and wipe the car battery posts clean.

5)Place your terminals back onto the car battery correctly and close you hood or trunk: depending on were your battery is located in your vehicle.
