A computer exhaust fan is designed to remove the heat from the computer case and it's job is to blow hot air out. Having a exhaust fan, will remove the hot air that remains in the computer case, therefore reducing the temperature of the components on the motherboard. A exhaust fan, is usually fitted on the side panel, or on rear of a computer tower.
