A passcode is used to prevent other people that want to use your Xbox live account on Xbox live and prevents hackers from signing into your Xbox live account and deleting friends and using up your purchased Microsoft points. A passcode is a code that is created and entered by using the buttons on the controller and even if someone tries to use your Xbox 360 live account offline, it with safeguard saved games that are stored on the hard drive or memory unit and your offline achievements for your games.
Instructions:
1)Power on your Xbox 360 console and connect a controller to it.
2)Sign in the gamertag profile you want to add a passcode to.
3)From the gamer profile screen, select the option called "Account Management", "Xbox Live Pass Code"
4)To create a passcode, enter any 4 buttons on the controller, using the triggers, d-pad, bumper buttons, or X and Y buttons.
4)Once you have created a passcode from the buttons on the controller, confirm the passcode, this is so the Xbox 360 knows that you remember the password.
5)Once configured, the passcode will be setup onto your Xbox live account.
