You can enable the auto-start feature in the PS3 systems main menu to allow game discs to load automatically. This means that you don't have to manually navigate the game disc in the XMB menu and press the X button to launch it. You simply swap out the game disc in your console for a new game and it will automatically boot the game for you. This will save you time and hassle going through the different list of options displayed onscreen to start your game. This feature is tested and works for all versions of the PS3 console.
1) Press down the 'Power' button to switch on your PlayStation 3 console. It will make a beep sound and the led light indicator will now turn a green color.
2) From the 'XMB' menu go to 'Settings' > 'System Settings' > 'Disc Auto-Start'.
3) Select the 'On' option for the 'Disc Auto-Start' option in the menu. This will then tell the operating system to automatically load any inserted game discs from now on. If you want to turn this feature off, simply select the 'Off' option instead.
