Installers tend to wrap there subwoofer enclosure box in carpet to make it look more professional and blend in with the rest of the cars interior. You might want to remove it, if the carpet is worn out or if it is the wrong color and doesn't match your cars interior. If you want to remove the carpet from your current speaker box, you will need to do it the correct way. Ripping it off with full force without thinking about it, will damage the MDF Wood and leave parts of fabric on the box.
1) Obtain a heat gun and heat up the area of the carpet you want to remove. Heat it for a minimum of 5 minutes. This will provide enough time for the heat to make the adhesive glue heat up and become more flexible.
2) Look at the sides of the enclosure, at the area you have just heated up. You will need to find a corner of the speaker box carpet. Once you have found it, get a flat head screwdriver and pry up the corner of the material.
3) Grab the corner of the fabric, push it upwards and slightly lift it off from the wood. Now that you have got the grip of the carpet, slowly pull it towards you to remove it. Take your time when doing this because rushing it will just tear the material and make a mess.
