Denim jeans are the most sensitive to color fading from washing machines due to their nature. Denim jeans are stained with colored dye to make them look bright and colorful. Black and blue colored jeans are the most effective to color fade problems. The reason why jeans color fade is because of the warm water and soap liquid that wear away the colored dye. To prevent your denim jeans getting damaged by color fade, you will need to wash them using the correct procedure. This will help minimized color fade and make jeans look as original as possible.
1) Only wash your jeans if absolute necessary. This because the more wash cycles they go through, the more the color is going to fade, regardless of how carefully you wash them. Turn your pair of denim jeans you want to wash inside out.
2) Start by washing your denim jeans in a washtub filled with cold water. Pour a special color fading detergent into the cold water to prevent color fade. You will be using cold water because it doesn't make the dye runny and drippy like with warm water.
3) Now that you have prepared your jeans manually by hand, you can use the washing machine to do the rest. So open the washing machine door and throw in your jeans. Be careful when inserting them into the drum, so don't catch them on any metal parts.
4) Get a small amount of salt and pour it into a cup. Then add the salt from the cup into the water compartment. Ensure that you set your washing machine into the delicate cycle mode for a gentle low temperate wash. This is because setting it onto fast spin will cause lots of friction and more color loss.
