If you are lucky enough to own a Nintendo DS lite console and you want to play Gameboy games, but don't own a Gameboy console, well you can play them directly without the need of any modifications or soldered chips. When Nintendo designed the DS lite model they included backwards compatibility with most Gameboy games right out of the box from the factory isn't that great.
1) Power off your Nintendo DS lite console.
2) Look at the bottom, pull out the plastic piece from the slot. This is used to give the console shape and prevent dust getting inside when this section is not in use.
3) Insert the Gameboy game of your choice into this slot with the label side up and push it in place.
4) Power on your console, the game should automatically begin and play straightway.
