How To Fix CB Radio Speaker Not Working

When you get an incoming signal being sent down your CB radio it is then transferred to the amplifier to the speaker. If the speaker on your CB radio is not working, you may need to recheck everything internally to make sure there are no issues. If you can connect an external speaker and you can hear sound, but you can't hear anything via the internal one, it rules out that your rig can process the audio and the problem is related to the internal speaker.

1) Switch off the radio.

2) Unscrew all the screws and lift off the bottom metal top cover.

3) You will see the speaker mounted on the bottom cover. Check to see that both positive and negative wires are connected to the speaker terminals firmly and are soldered strongly onto the circuit board.

4) Also try an alternative speaker by connecting two wires from the PCB to see whether or not you get any sound. If you do the current speaker will need replacing with the same kind taking the watts and ohm impedance into consideration from proper functionality and performance.
