How To Fix Car Amp Power Fuse That Keeps Blowing Out

If you experience each time you turn your vehicle on, the car amplifier power fuse keeps blowing out there could be many reasons to why that is happening. Usually, there is a reasonable explanation to why this is a reoccurring problem again. You probably have been through at least 50 fuses so far and still they keep on blowing out. So start by troubleshooting with the simplest ways to get you bumping again.

1) Could be a short circuit somewhere down the line. This can happen if the power wire is worn. For example, the plastic rubber insulation has come off. So start by tracing all the cables including the ground to check for any damaged.

2) You are using the wrong fuse rating for your stereo setup. Check the recommend fuse rating for the power wire and the one installed on the amp in the user specification manual. If you search it up online through the manufacturer website you will find a downloadable PDF document with all the detailed information in there.

3) The car amp could be faulty. This can be easily determined, disconnect the speaker or subwoofer from the output terminals on the amp. Now if the fuse still pops without any drivers connected to it there is a short on the PCB inside the amp. So it needs to be repaired by an local or authorized technician.
