If you are getting no sound what so ever when you are using your GPS tomtom sat nav to navigate across the country, there could possibly be an issue with the internal speaker. Sometimes the clip that connects to the circuit board could be loose from all the vibrations made by the cars windscreen. The speaker could also be damaged from regular use on high volume all the time. Before you take it in for a repair, its ideal that you carry out a quick reset. 1) Please make certain that the TomTom device is switched on before continuing with this process.
2) Find the reset button location.
3) Use the end of a paper clip and push it in for a couple of seconds.
4) It should reboot. When it restarts and you hear the famous drum roll you fixed the sound problem. If not then its most likely not a software problem.
