The sound from both earphone pieces ideally should sound identical in terms of volume. If you notice that on your headphones that one side is louder than the other, then its most likely a channeling issue. The audio device music player which you have connected them into has probably got incorrect balance settings that could be causing this problem. If its not that then the solder inside the wires in the jack could be broken or damaged for everyday use which is normal and can be also repaired.
1) Plug both earphones into your ears.
2) Bring up the audio settings on your device and find the 'Balance' option.
3) Adjust the left and right sliders equally so that they match up together.
