How To Fix PSP Buttons That are Not Working

If the directional buttons on your psp are faulty and not working because you have accidentally spilled water on your console, you need to power it off immediately. Electronics and water don't mix and there is only so much you can do. You can try to give it an internal clean to see if that fixes the buttons that are not working.

1) Remove the battery pack.

2) Unscrew the screws on the back.

3) Lift of the front faceplate.

4) Clean all the contacts were the plastic buttons connect on the circuit board with a damp cloth.

5) Wash the faceplate in warm water and allow to dry.

6) Refit the faceplate and screws, check if the buttons are now working. If not, its a hardware fault and they will need to be replaced which is a big job and it might be worth buying a new psp.
