How To Fix a Torn or Ripped Subwoofer Surround

The surround is a vital material to ensure that the subwoofer cone moves freely as possible without any delay. If its torn or ripped, it could have an impact on performance and you will hear air rushing out of it affecting the sound quality. If you don't repair and patch the hole in the subwoofer now, its going to spread and become worse. The best thing to use is something called rubber cement because when it dries up it becomes rubber and its really flexible just like the surround. This also works on foam surrounds and you can't even tell its been patched up.

1) Examine the repair and identify were the damage is.

2) Spread the rubber cement across the torn area using a lolly stick. Both on top and underneath filling all the ripped areas.

3) Allow it to dry for 24 hours.
