Is gold plated vs silver? I find out which is better

There are many people that claim that gold plated leads are better than silver plated. You see that gold plated leads are more expensive and they are not cheap to buy. Most rca, hdmi cables, scart leads,3.5mm phone jacks and terminals are gold plated. For headphones gold plating increase sound quality and reduces interference with other electrical items.Gold plated leads are better than sliver and that is a true fact but many people can't really seem to tell the difference between the two. This is because gold is a better conductor of signal compared to silver.Silver leads are not that bad for the money and still offer affordable decent quality.Silver plated is cheap to produce than gold.So that is why silver leads are cheaper on sale than gold plated because its cheaper for the company's to make them,so its cheaper for use to buy in store.

As for hdmi, gold plated leads improve sound and picture quality because it has much better conductivity. Some people can not tell the difference in terms of picture quality. They reduce static and make a sharper image for viewing. With gold plated you reduce the chance of corrosion happening and buying again more leads as you will have this problem with silver .If you are not going to keep your cables for long then there is no point of buying gold plated. There are also platimum and tin leads, these are both cheaper to buy than gold and offer about the same picture quality.

In car audio, you see many gold plated rca leads, this is because the speakers need to receive good signal quality to make them make them play clear sound that is distortion free. Its like this if you can afford gold plated leads, then go for it!If your in a tight budget and want decent quality then buy silver.Yes its true that gold is better than silver in every way, but you can't really tell the difference between them.So yes gold leads are better than silver leads in every way!
