How To Connect Your Headphones To a Guitar Amplifier

If you want to play your guitar late at night, you don't want to wake up your family or your neighbors, you can connect a pair of headphone directly to your amp. You can use any type of headphones, in ear or over ear, they will all work it won't matter at all, as long as they have a 3.5mm jack. Most guitar amplifiers will have their own integrated headphone output socket, which is used to connect the headphone jack into. When you connect your headphones into it, instead of sending the sound output signal to the built in speaker, it will send it through the headphone socket and out into your headphones. You might need to purchase a 1/8" - 1/4" adapter, to make your headphones fit, if the jack on your amp is 1/8 inch in size. These can be purcahsed on Ebay or Amazon cheaply.

1) Locate the headphone jack on your guitar amp. It will either be located on the front or back. It will be a large size socket, which will either have 'Headphones' or 'Output' written above it.

2) Insert the 1/8" - 1/4" adapter into the headphone socket. Grab the adapter, while the jack side pointing straight towards the headphone socket push it inwards, until fully inserted in.

3) Hooking up your headphones. Obtain the 3.5mm jack found at the end of the cable and insert this jack into the 3.5mm socket found on the adapter. Now that everything is connected perfectly, switch on your guitar amp, adjust the volume level accordingly and rock away!
