SkullCandy Crusher Headphones Review Big Bass!!!

Overview

The Skullcandy crusher headphones have two separate drivers inside each ear cup. The REX40 driver is designed to particularly focus on the midrange and higher frequencies of the sound spectrum. The additional driver called the Sensation55 is designed to play only bass sounds and turn them it into vibrations that you can feel. Skullcandy combining both drivers together provides substantial sound quality with minimal distortion. They certainly look very funky on your head, you can buy them in three different available colors black, red and white.

Inside The Box

The box nicely protects the headphones during transportation and is nicely presentable. Inside it you will find the following.

1) Paper Based User Manual.
2) Double sided 3.5mm lead with microphone.
3) Protective Soft Bag.
4) AA battery.

Design

The design is remarkable thanks to the engineers that have come up with a clever compact design. The headphones themselves are very light weight making them easier to carry around with you. They also fold in half making them have perfect portability for storage. The build quality is pretty good from what you don't expect from the previous headphones released by this manufacturer. Nice and sturdy plastic that doesn't crack or squeak during movement. So they have defiantly made a big improvement over previous models that have been released.
Technology elements

A small internal amplifier is integrated into the left side ear cup. This powers the two Sensation55 drivers found on both left and right ear cups. It obtains it power from just a regular size AA battery that you would find used in most electronics today. The amplifier provides that extra punch in the bass and makes your music come alive, it is definitely a fun experience. There is an adjustable slider to allow you adjust the amount of bass to your liking.
Sound Quality

The sound quality itself is so far the best heard throughout all of the different Skullcandy product range. Since it uses two separate drivers, one for bass and the other for vocals, the bass doesn't seem to sound overpowering and you can still hear clarity in your music. The bass response is very good and goes all the way down to 20HZ which is at home theater level! Its deep and its refined and pretty dam well for what they retail at. You can feel the pressure being built up from the lows and shakes your eardrum like a car subwoofer would do. Your jaw/teeth vibrates, your sides of your face twitch and you can feel your brain about to explode. Of course, you can turn all of this down thanks to the adjustable slider if it doesn't float your boat.

Result

Tested with different music genres, i found out that they perform the best will rap/hipop and dubstep types of music. If you are after loud vibrating bass that shakes all your head aggressively and looking for that car audio bass experience, i would certainly recommend them to you. They have a low ohm load impedance, in conjunction with a amp making them easy to power on any type of portable music device.  In comparison with the Sony XB500, these are a ideal alternative that provide more punch and bass, all with the portability factor.
