If the power switch on your psp handheld console is broken, you can't use it to switch off the psp. This means that the psp will be left running until the battery life has finished in the battery. Still there are ways to turn off the psp without using the power switch, they are just below:
If your psp console is running custom firmware, press the 'select' button on the psp, when the psp is on the XBM menu. Once you have done that, your psp will display a vsh menu, you will have to go down the list until you see 'shutdown device' option is highlighted. Once it is highlighted, you will have to press the X button on the psp and the console and it will turn it off. If the psp is running official firmware, this way will not work.
The other way to turn off the psp console without using the power switch, is to remove the battery lid and remove the battery pack from the psp console.
