How To Make Your Own Cheap DIY Nintendo DS Stylus

When you purchase your Nintendo DS console brand new, it comes supplied with an original pen stylus. The stylus pen works by applying pressure onto the capacitive touchscreen. Sometimes the stylus pen can get misplaced because of its small size. You could just use your finger to select things, but it will leave finger prints all over the screen. So you will have to clean it more often than you should. If you don't want to buy a brand new replacement pen stylus, you can build your own at home. You can modify the ink cartridge inside a ballpoint pen and transform it into a fully working stylus pen. I have personally tried out this on my 3DS XL at it works brilliantly!

1) At the top of the pen, you will find a small cap that you can screw off. Grip it with your fingers and twist it anticlockwise to remove it.

2) Hold the pen upside-down to slide out the ink cartridge. Remove the remaining ink liquid inside it by rinsing it under a cold water tap.

3) Cut off about 5cm off the ink cartridge using a pair of scissors. This is to make it the same size and so it fits into the pen slot on the side.

4) You use the end bit of the pen ink cartridge to tap on screen.  Use the calibration feature settings to test out your new pen and tweak it for optimal performance.
