How To Fix PS2 Not Showing Up On Your TV

If you are having problems trying to get your PS2 connected to your TV and the display is not showing up, please consider the following troubleshooting tips to overcome this.

1) Ensure that the AV cable is firmly connected into both the back of the console and TV. Having a connector that is loose can cause no video picture problems because the metal pins inside will not fully have contact with the connections.

2) If you are using a composite cable, ensure that each plug is connected into the socket of the same colour. There are three plugs in total, yellow being the video, red and white being the audio. If you have mixed these up incorrectly, the signals will not be going to their right destination.

3) Check all of the AV modes on your television. Going through them all is ideal because the current one you are selecting may not be the right one for were you have made the connection with your PlayStation 2 console.

4) Try a different scart socket on the back of your TV. The current one that you are using to the cable from your PS2 could be damaged. The pins inside could be damaged or bent from putting it incorrectly previously.

5) Try a different AV out cable. Sometimes the cable can become faulty, the brittle wires inside can break off from there solder connections resulting in no display problems. When looking out for a replacement look for gold plated connectors for best quality and durability.
