If you want to make your computer fans spin faster because of overheating issues from overclocking, you can increase the voltage sent to them. The more the volts, the more power the motor is going to get the maximum is up to 12 volts. Most fans are connected using the molex connector and receiving around 5 volts to make the fans slower and sound quieter from the factory.
1) Power off your computer and ground yourself.
2) Slide off the panel on your case.
3) Look at the molex connection coming from the bunch of cables from the power supply unit, there will be four pins that contain four different wires.
4) The yellow wire is 12 volts and the red one is 5 volts. The other two remaining black wires are used for the ground.
5) Connect your fan directly by connecting the red wire to the yellow one and the black wire to the black wire on the molex cable.
6) Use heat shrink tubing to tidy up the connections.
