If your Nokia x6 displays a message that says 'sim card registration failed' then your sim card it not active. Therefore you can't make calls, texts and browse the internet using your sim card because the Nokia x6 can't receive signal from your network provider. If you are facing this problem, the solutions are below:
1)Remove the sim card from the Nokia x6 and place that sim card into a spare mobile phone. Once you have inserted the sim card into a spare mobile phone, does the sim card display any signal? If it does display signal, the problem is not related to the sim card, the problem is related to the Nokia x6. If you still get no signal on the spare mobile phone and you get some sort of sim card error message, then the problem is with the sim card.
If the problem is with the sim card:
*The first thing you should do is clean the sim card contacts with a tissue.
*The second thing you should do is call your networks customer service department and inquire why the sim card is not working. The network provider will then carry out a diagnostic service and identify what the problem is, then might even send you a free replacement sim card, if your sim card is faulty.
If the problem is with the Nokia x6:
*The first thing you should do is try and insert a different sim card into the Nokia x6. If the different sim card you inserted into the makes the Nokia x6 display the 'sim card registration failed again' message, then search for your network operator manually.
*Update the firmware on the Nokia x6, as your Nokia x6 probably has buggy firmware.
*Replace the antenna.

I did all that and the new sim card does not work in the N95 either. It works in another phone, just not the N95. N95 WILL work with other network (Orange) sim.
