A car amp can run hot after playing loud music for a long time.A car amp will run hot because the components inside can not cool down which is usually the cause for it to be running so hot.Sometimes it can overheat because the impedance subwoofer load can be to low or if your amp is bridged for more power.Most amps shut or turn off when it gets to hot to protect the amp from get damaged.The cause of this is many people mount and place there car amplifier under seats or other locations that block air ventilation.If your running amps in your car when its summer or in warm weather then you should come up with a simple cooling solution.Check my other post as i explain all the ways to keep your amp cool and to stop your amp from overheating again.
