If you have just purchased a new subwoofer and no longer want the old one, well you might as well have some fun with it. You can blow up the coils in the subwoofer to see how long it can last for and the cool sound effects that come with it. I suggest you only consider this if the cone is damaged or something is mechanically wrong with the speaker. If its in good working condition then your better off placing it on Ebay or craigslist and get some extra cash out of it, rather than letting it go to waste.
1) Ensure that the mains plug is powered off.
2) Connect the speaker wire to the terminals on the sub.
3) Insert the other end directly into the mains plug netural and live doesn't matter which way they are.
4) Switch on the plug the voice coil with begin to buzz.
