As Technology emerges throughout the years, the components used inside PC monitors have become lighter and compact. This also means the type of speakers used inside them are all quiet small and therefore the sound quality and volume does get impacted from this. This is why you tend to notice that older modes have better sound production. However, one main benefit you do get is that because of the weight, it makes it very easy to transport across your home. If you are not happy with the way the built in speakers sound, i have a few solutions that can help improve the level of sound quality from your computers audio.
1) Go into the 'Audio' settings menu and see if there is an option for an 'Equalizer'. You will get a number of different sliders displayed, which will allow you to adjust to different levels of frequencies. The bottom slides will adjust the amount of bass and the end sliders will adjust the amount of treble. Play around with these settings until you hit the optimal spot.
2) Ensure that the volume from your computer or other source is reached at its maximum level. The computer monitor uses this as its input signal. So if it is to weak the sound will also get impacted from this.
3) Sometimes internal PC speakers are not so great no matter how hard you try to make them sound any better. Connecting external stereo speakers from Creative or Logitech will be the better option at this point. You will connect the green 3.5mm jack into the back of your sound card. You will also need to connect it to the mains to power the amplifier up.
