How To Fix Not Working Built In PC Monitor Speakers

Having a PC monitor with built in speakers makes it more convenient for yourself. This is because you don't have to spend additional money on a pair of external speakers and it also saves space taken up on the front of your office desk. If you can't get your built in PC monitor speakers to work, attempt to follow this guide.

1) Most modern computer monitors are connected either via VGA or DVI. These two different types of connections only carry a video signal. You will need to connect an additional cable to provide the sound signal on a separate channel.

2) You will need to purchase a double ended 3.5mm jack lead, basically it looks like a wire with two headphone plugs on each end.

3) Look at the back of your computer screen, you will see a socket labeled as 'Input'. Connect one end of the lead into this port.

4) Look at the rear of the desktop tower, on the soundcard you will see a green color socket. Connect the remaining end of the cable into this port. Your computer will now be able to send out the sound signal and feed it into your monitor.
