How To Replace Batterypack Inside GameBoy Advance SP

The Gameboy advance SP console obtains it power from an internal battery pack. When you plug in your mains charger into the console, it will charge up the battery pack. Once fully charged up, the battery pack will provide power for a few hours. Overtime, the battery life will become poor, due too many charge and discharge cycles been used up. You will notice that the battery life will drain out very quickly, far more quicker than normal and you have to keep putting it on charge. To fix this problem, you will need to purchase a brand new official Nintendo replacement battery and replace it with the existing inserted battery pack.

1) Remove the 'Game Cartridge' from the SP console. Also remove the mains 'AC Adapter Charger' wire plug if connected.

2) Turn your console around, so that the bottom side is facing upwards. You will see a small sized 'Rectangular Lid' held in place by a small 'Philips' head screw.

3) Using a small sized 'Philips Screwdriver', unscrew the Philips screw next to the battery cover. Place it into a small container so that it does not get lost.

4) Then remove the 'Battery Cover' from the console. You will now see the inserted battery pack inside the compartment. Insert your finger nail into the side of the battery and pry it outwards.

5) Remove your brand new replacement battery from its cardboard packaging. Line up your new battery pack with the 'Slot' and push it down. Then replace the lid, along with the Philips screw and screw it tight.

6) Connect the mains 'AC Adapter Charger' wire plug into the console and switch it on from the wall socket. Only use the console once the new battery pack is fully charged, in order to maximize its lifespan and usage.
