The Nintendo 3DS handheld games console has two large screens, one screen placed at the top and the other screen placed at the bottom. The Nintendo 3DS is backwards compatible with standard DS games which are used for the DS lite and DSi. You will notice that the screens on the 3DS don't maximize all of the screen size that is available, when playing these types of games. You will need to activate the zoom feature before you launch a game. Then you can play the regular types of Nintendo DS games on a XL 3DS console in full screen mode.
1) Insert the normal Nintendo DS game cartridge into the console.
2) Hold down both 'Start and 'Select' buttons. Keep holding these two buttons and press 'A' button at the same time to start the game.
3) You have now activated the zoom feature in the settings. The game will now be fully displayed in full screen mode at its best.
