The Xbox one has an online store via Xbox live which allows you to download full games, demos, game updates and purchasable DLC game content. If you notice that your Xbox one console is taking a very long time to download content onto the hard drive, it can possibly get a bit frustrating. After waiting for hours for the download to complete its still stuck on 50%. The reason why your downloads are most likely to be slow is because you are using wireless, that's if there are no issues with your internet service provider. This type of connection method is the most convenient, since there is no wires involved and looks tidy when setup. However in comparison to using a wired connection, wired will always be faster and outperform Wi-Fi any day.
1) Get a doubled sided Ethernet cable that has RJ45 connectors on both ends. Check in the box you received with the console an grey color one should be supplied if purchased brand new.
2) Disconnect your Xbox from your wireless access point.
3) Plug in the cable into any of the free Ethernet Ports on your router.
4) Plug the remaining end of the cable into the back of the Xbox console into the Ethernet port.
5) The console will then automatically pick up the wired connection you have just made. Now you are ready to benefit from faster downloads and less online lag.
