You can factory reset your Samsung DVD player if you are experiencing technical problems with it. If your recorder keeps on freezing during playback, 99.9% its a software issue and resetting it back to factory settings usually does the trick. These instructions also work with most bluray players as well. Please be aware that you can't reset without a remote control.
1) Switch on your Samsung DVD player you want to reset and eject the tray to remove any current disc inserted.
2) Get your remote control and press the 'Menu' button.
3) Navigate through the menu and find an option called 'Setup' followed by pressing 'Enter'.
4) Now you will see an option called 'Restore To Factory Settings' or similar, this message does vary depending on which model you have. Once found press 'Enter' to go into it.
5) Select the 'Start' option and press 'Enter'. You will now get a confirmation message appear onscreen if you're ok to proceed with the reset.
6) Once accepted, your Samsung DVD player will be in the process of being restored to factory settings. This takes around about 30 seconds to complete.
