If you want to be a ricer thats great regardless of what car you have, its ideal to make the standard car exhaust louder if you want to turn heads in the wrong sense. However, when its comes to high end stainless steel exhaust systems they can end up costing thousands including fitting and shipping. If you want to know how to make your car exhaust louder for free without buying anything all you need to find is your drill from your shed. Basically if you drill small holes around the backbox area, it will make the exhaust sound really loud from far and make it raspy. I mean it will not sound nothing like a tuned up subaru impreza or evo, but it will make your car sound faster than it is making it a good thing in the ricer category. We have tried this for a laugh on a toyota yaris and boy it did turn heads thanks to this idea.
1) Turn off the car and allow the engine to sit for around 30 minutes. You don't want to work on the car exhaust while its hot.
2) Jack up the car and place axel stands underneath it.
3) Insert a regular drill bit into the drill. Big or small is doesn't really matter at all, try an experiment with it to see what different sounds you can get from drilling different sized holes.
4) Plug in the drill into the mains and switch it on. Holding the drill tool upwards, place the drill bit directly onto the metal back box of the standard car exhaust. Press upwards and begin to drill, the holes should be created in seconds.
5) Repeat this procedure drilling five holes in the middle, left and right parts on the back box. This is the best combination for a nice raspy sound.
