Your mobile phone will require receiving a network signal from the network provider of the inserted sim card. Only then will your cell phone network functions will work, such allowing you to make calls, texts or browse the internet. If you live in a particular area where you get weak signal it can impact the quality of service you receive from your carrier. This can be due to the obstructing surroundings in the environment or just being to far away from the phone mast. Before choosing the right provider, you should check before hand to see if you have good coverage in your area. If you notice that majority of carriers provide a poor signal, then there are still ways which you can gain more reception on you cell phone. So why not give them a try!
1) Select the service provider manually instead of automatic. This is because this method will allow the mobile phone to search for the nearest phone mast that has the strongest signal. Using the automatic option will pick up any random signal spot.
2) You may have poor 4G coverage, however 3G may be perfectly fine. Since 4G is kind of a new thing to mobile phone networks, they are still in the process of improving its speed and signal. Try switching back down to 3G to see if you get more signal bars shown on your screen.
3) Connect an external antenna or booster box. Now this does depend on what kind of phone you have. Some have a socket at the back which allows you to connect an booster aerial to gain more signal strength. Positioning it near the window will give you the best possible results.
4) Find the best location to see where signal strengths improves. Walk around and monitor the signal strength bars. Being higher up and next to a window is the most ideal situation. When you notice that you are getting more than usual, this will indicate that this spot is the best for good signal.
