How to prevent a car head unit from overheating

If you have noticed your car head unit is recently overheating by touching the back of it, you might want to come up with a simple cooling solution. I have a few solutions below this text, that i would recommend to you:

1)Car head units are small, therefore they produce more heat. Place a cooling fan into the rear of the car head unit can help keep the small internal amplifier inside the head unit cool. You can connect the fan directly the your car battery. The only downfall of fitting a cooling into your stereo is, you will hear the fan blades spinning, although that can't be resolved by increase the volume level higher.

2)Add a larger and more efficient heat sink.

3)If you decreased the ohm load below 2 ohms or bridged your head unit, your car head unit will overheat rapidly. So i suggest you to increase the impedance to 4 ohms or above, just to make sure you don't cause any damage to you car radio.
