How To Test a Sony PS2 Network Adapter For Faults

If you have just purchased a couple of PS2 Network adapters and not sure if they work or not, its ideal you test them. Especially if you planning to sell them later on, as sometimes they can develop a fault, the resistors on the PCB can be fried sometimes from lighting storms.

Here are instructions on how to test a Sony PS2 Network Adapter

1) Connect the network adapter into the back of the console. Attach Ethernet cable into it directly to the broadband router box.

2) Insert the network setup disc into the tray and reset the console.

3) Go into 'Network Adapter Tools'. Then 'Advanced' selecting 'Network Tools'.

4) Press 'X' to perform the internet network adapter test.

5) It will now test the connectivity between the adapter and the internet connection. It will display the results in around 30 seconds telling you whether its successful or failed.
