1)Hard reset the Nokia n97 frequently, because it can make the operating system run much faster.
2)Close all the application and games that you leave running the background. If you leave them running in the background, as in a result the Nokia n97's performance is reduced for other tasks because the ram gets used up and the processor slows down.
3)Remove data that you no longer use or need on the phone memory and mass memory.
4)Use a simple theme, most themes that you can download for free, from the internet make Nokia phone's run really slow and buggy because they contain a virus. I recommend to stick to the basic default theme, because it will make your Nokia n97 start up and shut down more quicker, plus it reduces the chance of the n97 to freeze up.
5)Reduce the number of widgets you have placed on your Nokia n97's home screen. Too many running at the same time, can clog up the ram and decrease the CPU's performance.
6)Always check regularly if Nokia have released a latest firmware version, new firmware offers more features and sometimes can enhance the speed, reliability and performance of the device. To check if there is a update for your Nokia n97, remove the battery and make a note of the product code, which is found on a sticker. Once you have done that, go to the Nokia software updater website and enter your n97's product code. Once you have inserted, it will tell you instantly if there is a new firmware available or not.
7)Keep the mobile phone switched off and remove the battery from the device, when you don't need to use it because it will allow the processor to cool down. When the processor produces too much heat, it will slow down, that is why it is ideal to let it cool down.
