How To Fix a Not Working TV Remote Control Problem

If your TV remote controller no longer is working, then below are the solutions to help you get your TV remote control working again:

1)Remove the battery lid from your TV control, then remove the batteries from it. Using a battery tester, test the batteries you just removed from the TV remote control, if they are dead, you will need to replace them. When you replace the dead batteries, make sure you buy good quality batteries, from brands such as Energizer or Duracell, don't buy cheap batteries, as they are a waste of money.

2)If the batteries are OK, make sure they are inserted into the TV controller correctly, sometimes they can be fitted, with reversed polarity by mistake.

3)If the polarity of the batteries are correct, then make sure battery contacts that are in the TV remote control are not corroded or bent. If they look corroded, using a small eraser, remove the corroded substance. If the contacts in the TV remote control are bent, using a small screwdriver, adjust it so it touches the battery contacts.

4)If it's a universal TV remote that is not working, then find the use manual for it and reprogram it. Sometimes it can delete the code, due to a technical error.

5)Turn off everything that is electrical in the room you are using your TV remote control in. Sometimes electrical interference can disturb the remote to function properly with the television.

6)Using a mobile phone camera, point the infrared beam towards the camera lens. Can you see a infrared beam on the camera? If you don't see it, the infrared sensor is faulty and it will need replacing.
