Since the PlayStation 1 is quiet an old console, you are more likely to face no power issues. If you are experiencing that your Sony PS1 console is not powering on, follow the instructions given to see if you can resolve this no power issue at home before taking it to a repair shop.
1) Check if the power supply cord is properly connected into the socket on the back of the console and is plugged into a wall outlet socket that's switched on.
2) Try a different electrical device in the same electricity mains socket that you used to connect the PS1 console into. Chances are that the wall plug socket could be faulty and not providing any power to the unit.
3) Unplug the power cord from the power supply. Check to see if the two metal pins inside and not bended and are firmly upright against each other with an equal space. Unaligned pins can cause the power cord to not get proper electrical contract.
4) Try the same power cord onto a console that supports the same kind of connection. This can be other Sony products such as the PS2, PS3 or PS4. From doing this, you can see if the power cord works in other consoles or not.
5) Remove the fuse from the plug and replace it with one of the same amps. A short circuit could have possibly occurred at one present time causing the fuse to blow out. If this happens the circuit inside the plug is broken and will not provide current to the internal PSU.
6) If you have consider all of the possible solutions and still no luck with getting your PS1 to power on successfully, its most likely a faulty power supply not the cable. This is an internal component and is easily swappable, all you need is the correct part, which because of its rarity it can be a problem. Before replacing the power supply, ensure that the console is powered off for 24 hours. This is so the capacitors loose all of there charge, preventing you to get a shock when handling this part.
