You can now game on the go by connecting your PS2 console directly to your car in dash DVD player. The power supply in the actual PlayStation 2 console operates on a 240 mains volts AC and converts down to around 9 volts DC. You will require to purchase a power converter or inverter to step down the voltage and provide sufficient power for the PS2 console. It would be more ideal to install the newer slimline model because its more compact and can easily fit into the glove box or under the seat for a clean stealthy install. You might want to also go with a wireless dualshock 2 controller and not the wired one supplied.
1) Connect the positive and negative wires from the power inverter directly to the car battery. You could also use the cigarette lighter for the convenience, however it will look quiet messy and will limit the amount of current that can be draw out.
2) Connect the PS2 console mains plug into the wall socket on the power inverter on the bottom side.
3) Key your car's ignition it should turn on and switch on the PlayStation 2 console. You will know this when you can hear the fan spinning.
4) Now you need to connect it to your TV DVD player single or double din headunit. Look on the back you will see three RCA plugs usually labeled as Video input. You need to plug in the composite AV leads from the console into this cable for the picture to be displayed.
