If you have bought a set of computer speakers and you want to use them with your computer, so you can play games, listen to music or watch movies and hear the sound using them, you will need to hook them up to your computer. A computer has a sound card or on board sound, which is basically electronic components that deliver sound to your speakers. If your PC speakers are stereo ones, in other words there is two speakers, one speaker is left and other one is left, you will need to locate the green colored, a jack socket that provides a input signal to your computer speakers.
)Finding it is easy, just look at the rear of your computer tower for a green coloured jack, look on the motherboard, or if not found there, look for a sound card fitted into a pci slot. If you don't see it, then your PC doesn't have sound card, so you need to buy one and fit it in, a good sound card for money that i recommend you is called a "Creative blaster", it provides excellent sound quality.
)Next you want to find the 3.5mm jack, a wire that is sticking out from the speaker housing.
)Once found, plug the jack into the "Green" jack socket, now your speakers can receive a input signal and amplify.
)Power on your computer, it should automatically find them and your sound card's menu will pop up. If it does pop up, it will allow you to make adjustment to different sound effect features, this is to allow you to adjust how you want the speakers to sound, most good sound cars these days have a equalizer, this is so you can increase or decrease bass and treble.
