If you have a car stereo that allows you to make your own custom equalizer presets, such as increase and decrease treble and bass and you have fine tuned them, when you turn off your car, does you car stereo lose your presets when your turn the stereo back on?
)If this is situation, your car head unit is not remembering your presents because the memory wire is not connected with the live wire. The memory wire makes the stereo remember its settings, if that wire is not connected to the live wire, that can be the cause for it to forget them.
)So to resolve this problem, remove the car head unit from it's din slot and connect the memory wire with the live wire, on most decks the memory wire is coloured "Yellow", to make 100% sure which wire is the memory one on the wiring harness, look for the wiring diagram, it will be noted on there.
)Next you need to find the live wire, it is always a red colour wire, it should be already connect to a constant 12 volts. So you might need to unwrap some insulation tape from it to get access to it.
)Once you have found both the live and memory wires, strip of 1 cm of insulation off the memory wire and then connect it to the live wire. Once you have made the connections, using insulation tape, tape up the exposed braid of the wires.
)Replace the car stereo back into the din slot.
