How To Fix RAC Sat Nav With Flashing Red Light Indicator

There is a red charging led indicator on the front of any RAC sat nav. If its solid red when plugged in for a charge, that indicates that it is in the process of being charged. However, if you get a flashing red light on your RAC sat nav that indicates there is a charging problem. Follow the free troubleshooting steps provided today to help you resolve this battery problem.

1) Try charging your sat nav using the mains charger supplied. Some models are known to only charge via a mains outlet and not charge from a usb port.

2) The charger could possibly be faulty. Inspect the wiring, is there any loose ends, rips or tears in the cabling? If so this can cause an electrical contact connection issue.

3) Try cleaning the charging slot. Get a cotton bud and scrub it clean. Dirt or dust particles can make the gold metal contacts inside not have proper contact with the charger.

4) Try a pin reset. Since it could be an issue with the maps software or a firmware bug.

5) Replace the battery back inside. The current one could be damaged due to overcharging or overuse. So see if ordering a brand new replacement fixes this for you.
