Does All PS2 Consoles Have an IR Infrared Port?

 
I have just bought a DVD remote control. Do I need to plug in the IR receiver sensor, i thought some PS2 consoles have an built in infrared port?

It depends all on what model you have. If its a fat bulky style SPCH-5000 or higher, it will have a built in infrared port. If its a 3000 model or lower then it won't have one. Also all slimline consoles have one regards of the version.
